Clinical coordinator (CECoT)

The clinical coordinator is a health care professional who possesses specialized clinical knowledge to carry out: a) the sorting of different clinical requests, b) the prioritization of requests and referrals to the right health care provider in a timely manner, and c) event planning. The training module for this user group is being developed by each of the four clinical committees. Part of the training received by the clinical coordinator in the CECoT is similar to the one provided to the site technician, namely: a) equipment used in telehealth, b) booking policies and procedures of the CECoT, and c) thorough knowledge of applications, medical devices and clinical telehealth tools like the stethoscope.

This person ensures that clinical service requests are dealt with appropriately to maintain easy and direct access to the different clinical services of the CvSSS. Three people are currently associated with this role and cover the four deployed clinical areas: obstetrics, cardiology, psychiatry, oncology.

1. Introduction to the basics of videoconferencing

2. Procedure for making a videoconferencing (VC) request to the CECoT

Description of the steps involved in making a videoconferencing request to the Telehealth Expertise and Coordination Centre (CECoT). At the end of this module, the learner shall possess the skills and knowledge required to properly fill up the various booking request forms for videoconferencing (host site) and the videoconference registration form (participating site).

4. Using videoconferencing technology

Improvement of one’s knowledge in order to carry out the installation, set up the room and handle the equipment safely. This is a complete guide that covers everything from the creation of a videoconferencing booking request form to the reading of the data sheet and to the autonomous implementation of videoconferencing sessions.

5. Medical devices and their use
