Super user (autonomous)

The telecommunications network administrator has specialized computer-related expertise and a thorough knowledge of all the technical aspects of telehealth. He knows the contents of all the training modules because he teaches them. He is able to compare and make the difference in the choice of a product from the vendor documentation and operating rules on the RITM network. He ensures: a) a technological watch over the servers and applications in the telehealth IT park and systems, b) software upgrades, c) compliance with service contracts of videoconferencing equipment, d) management of “technical tickets” from the RUIS McGill Telehealth Network, e) license management of telehealth equipment and applications (ex: TMS), and f) the configuration and update of codecs and other telehealth equipment, in collaboration with the CECoT telehealth technician and the site technicians.

Moreover, this person takes part in the development of new telehealth services requiring the addition of IT applications or products. He already has recognized certifications and professional training to fully and autonomously take on this role.

2. Procedure for making a videoconferencing (VC) request to the CECoT

Description of the steps involved in making a videoconferencing request to the Telehealth Expertise and Coordination Centre (CECoT). At the end of this module, the learner shall possess the skills and knowledge required to properly fill up the various booking request forms for videoconferencing (host site) and the videoconference registration form (participating site).

Improvement of one’s knowledge in order to carry out the installation, set up the room and handle the equipment safely. This is a complete guide that covers everything from the creation of a videoconferencing booking request form to the reading of the data sheet and to the autonomous implementation of videoconferencing sessions.

4. Medical devices and their use
